Pipe bursting for pressure pipelines is a trenchless method of renewal. As part of this method, the old pipe is burst or cut open, thus being destroyed, and is radially displaced into the surrounding soil. Behind the bursting head hangs the new, factory-produced pipe run joined together on the construction site (made of, e.g., PE 100 RC protective-jacket pipes conforming to PAS 1075 Type 3). It is drawn directly into the free cross section.

With the pipe bursting method special attention must be paid to the surrounding soil (displaceability) and any other pipes that cross or have been laid in parallel. The joining of building service pipes and the pipeline is performed by means of the open-cut method using appropriate fittings, e.g. tapping tees.

The pipe bursting method is subdivided into two different processes: dynamic pipe bursting and static pipe bursting.

As a system manufacturer, SIMONA offers pressure pipelines, pressure pipes with protective properties and a protective jacket, flange assemblies and application-specific fittings according to construction site requirements – solutions tailored specifically to the pipe bursting method.
