Whether sheets featuring functional layers or high-performance thermoplastics that can be exposed to processing temperatures in excess of 200 °C – the new Technology Centre allows us to work on a more extensive range of development projects with new materials and combinations of materials. This will help us to reduce time to market. For the first time, our research and development departments have been brought together under the same roof at a dedicated site. SIMONA’s abilities as a pioneering innovator are underpinned by lean structures and state-of-the-art multifunctional machinery.
Within the Mobility segment of the market our subsidiary Boltaron supplies an extensive range of extruded, calendered and press-laminated sheet products for aircraft interiors. www.boltaron.com

At SIMONA, customising is not merely restricted to supplying individual sizes, colours and dimensions tailored to your specific requirements. With the field of application for plastics becoming increasingly diverse, customers also want to be able to choose from a more extensive range of functional characteristics. Whether antistatic, electrically conductive, resistant to chemicals, antibacterial, non-slip or “as smooth as a baby's bottom”, we produce plastics with special properties – of a consistently high quality.
Unlocking new fields of application
Mobility, Construction, Agriculture, Rehabilitation, Water Treatment and Mining are market segments in which SIMONA is already active today. We are committed to unlocking new fields of application for our polymer-based products for the purpose of cementing our position in attractive niche segments.
GrowTogether
Having established a new organisational structure for our EMEA business, comprising five business lines, we are pursuing the goal of an outright focus on end-user applications. At the heart of this lies our commitment to customer-driven thinking and action. Achieving this in terms of ensuring growth in all market segments requires a keen sense of partnership: within and between new teams – and across various sectors. Thus, it is about "growing together" at many levels. And not only in Europe. In our effort to become a global company, we will focus on process and application orientation at all levels.
In taking this new strategic approach, we will capture market share in established core sectors and unlock potential in new fields of application, the focus being on expanding our product and service offering and operating in a manner that is targeted more effectively at end customers and fields of application.
Focusing on thermoplastic sheets, pipes and fittings, we are the leading premium supplier to global growth industries with EBIT-based profitability of between 6 and 8 per cent. We serve our end customers as a global supplier of high-quality thermoplastic solutions.
Our success is based to a large extent on the efforts of our high-calibre staff and their unwavering dedication. Indeed, professional development and personal advancement form an integral part of our day-to-day activities – and this applies not only to our employees. We also offer our clients a range of highly targeted training programmes, implemented either at our Technical Service Centre or at the customer's premises.
SIMONA is committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions to address some of the most pressing issues facing our society in the future. Plastics are predestined for applications within the field of environmental protection, energy provision, mobility and water supply. We have formulated a corporate strategy that is targeted closely at these areas of business. SIMONA is a pioneer in environmental protection. For decades, we have been producing PVC sheets without hazardous lead stabilisers. 95% of the waste produced during operations is recycled. We are committed to the continuous advancement of energy efficiency at production level. Our integrated quality, environmental and energy management system provides the basis for ongoing improvements to the quality of our products and processes as well as the sustainability of ecological protection, in addition to helping us optimise our energy footprint and reduce CO2 emissions. Our management system is compliant with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 14001 and DIN EN ISO 50001.
Committed to its social responsibilities, SIMONA supports a number of aid projects, educational facilities and other initiatives throughout the region and beyond. In 2007, Anita Bürkle, widow of Dr. Wolfgang Bürkle, who was SIMONA AG's CEO and later Chairman of the Supervisory Board for many years, established a foundation by the name of "Dr. Wolfgang und Anita Bürkle Stiftung". The shares in SIMONA AG bequeathed to Mrs. Bürkle by her late husband were transferred to this foundation. Its objective is to support and promote worthy causes in the town of Kirn and the region as a whole.
SIMONA has established a track record spanning more than 150 years, built on its commitment to quality, diligence and reliability. Established in 1857 as a leather processing business, Carl Simon Söhne soon evolved into a company of international renown, reaching its zenith in the first decade of the 20th century. However, the two world wars that followed resulted in the total collapse of the European leather industry – precipitating SIMONA into a full-scale crisis. The company sought out new lines of business – and found them in the plastics industry. Since then, SIMONA has flourished and grown, establishing itself as a leading player within the field of plastics manufacturing. Displaying energy and dynamism, we intend to pursue our ambitious goals and meet our customers' exacting standards. Around the globe. With total commitment. And always one step ahead of others.
SIMONA AG shares are traded in the General Standard of Deutsche Börse, Frankfurt, as well as in Düsseldorf. Approximately 9,5% of our stock is held in free float, i.e. by the wider public. We are committed to a consistent and stable dividend policy, together with an attractive dividend yield.
