SIMONA 2025: Revenue stable, earnings solid
Financial Press Releases Company
Kirn, April 22, 2026. The SIMONA Group generated revenue of €582.3 million in the 2025 financial year (previous year: €581.2 million; +0.2%). Against the backdrop of declining prices, the SIMONA Group succeeded in maintaining earnings at the previous year's level on the back of higher sales volumes. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to €38.2 million (previous year: €38.7 million) and the EBIT margin was 6.6% (previous year: 6.7%), which is within the guidance range of 6 to 8%. In the first quarter of 2026, revenue increased to €155.7 million (previous year: €152.2 million) with EBIT of € 11.1 million (previous year: €8.0 million).
Revenue by region
Sales revenue in the EMEA region increased by 6.4% to €378.5 million in 2025 (previous year: €355.8 million). Growth was driven in particular by strong demand in infrastructure applications and resilient business in the industrial sector, despite sluggish sales in the chemical industry. This contrasted with a downward trend in consumer-related applications, such as in the advertising industry. The Americas region recorded a 9.2% decline in revenue to €159.5 million in 2025 (previous year: €175.7 million). Business relating to industrial applications, in particular the field of semiconductors, continued to operate at high capacity, while the Group's aviation business recorded profitable growth. Demand-side reluctance on the part of a key account and persistently weak demand for leisure-related and mobility applications had an adverse effect on business. Revenue generated from sales in the Asia-Pacific region amounted to €44.4 million in 2025 (previous year: €49.7 million). The year-on-year decline was particularly evident in the Mobility business line. Growth in the semiconductor business contrasted with an anticipated decline in the automotive sector; weakness within the construction and solar sectors also had a dampening effect. At the same time, SIMONA continued to invest in the refinement of its product range and in market development.
Revenue by business line
The Infrastructure business line achieved significant growth, taking revenue to €138.2 million (previous year: €110.5 million; +25.1%), thanks in part to dynamic business with cable ducting for energy transmission projects in Germany. The Industry business line was affected by sluggish demand in the chemical process industry, while achieving growth in the semiconductor sector in Asia-Pacific. Revenue amounted to €199.1 million (previous year: €216.2 million; -7.9%). Revenue in the Advertising & Building business line fell to €70.4 million (previous year: €83.3 million; -15.4%) due to sluggish economic trends in the advertising sector, while the smaller market segment of building construction performed favorably. The Mobility business line also recorded lower revenue. At €68.2 million (previous year: €69.7 million), revenue fell by 2.2%, mainly due to subdued demand within the Chinese automotive industry. SIMONA achieved significant growth in its project-driven global business relating to equipment for land-based fish farms.
Earnings
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) for the SIMONA Group amounted to €38.2 million in 2025 (previous year: €38.7 million), while the EBIT margin was 6.6% (previous year: 6.7%) and thus within the target corridor of 6 to 8%. Despite significant increases in staff costs and operating expenses, higher sales volumes meant that EBIT was almost on a par with the previous year. EBITDA amounted to €65.0 million (previous year: €63.4 million), while the EBITDA margin stood at 11.2% (previous year: 10.9%).
Strategic Development
From a strategic perspective, the focus was on preparations for plant expansions and initiatives aimed at enhancing customer centricity. In Archbald, Pennsylvania, the official groundbreaking ceremony in November 2025 marked the commencement of the largest single investment project in the Americas to date. Production capacity is set to be expanded significantly, which will be accompanied by measures to increase the vertical range of manufacture. New sheet and welding rod extrusion lines will provide additional capacity to support further growth in the chemical process and semiconductor industries as well as in the sanitary and building construction markets. The plant expansion project is scheduled for completion in the course of this year. In Norway, SIMONA Stadpipe is investing in a new factory building to expand its production facilities for large components used in land-based fish farming operations.
In acquiring the Dutch companies Electroplast and Dutchclamp in the financial year just ended, SIMONA strengthened its product portfolio in the growth market of energy and data transmission.
First quarter 2026
In the first quarter of 2026, revenue increased by 2.3% to €155.7 million. Alongside buoyant industrial and infrastructure business in Europe, growth in sales volumes and revenue was driven significantly by forward momentum in Asia following the expansion of local production capacity. March was characterized by a sharp surge in raw material prices and pre-emptive purchases by customers seeking to avert potential shortages of raw materials. Against the backdrop of disciplined cost management and favorable currency effects, earnings increased from €8.0 million to €11.1 million. The EBIT margin of 7.2% (previous year: 5.3%) was within the target range of 6 to 8% in the first quarter of 2026.
“Overall, 2025 was again marked by significant uncertainty, reflecting structural weaknesses in Europe and Asia, a muted industrial sector, and global factors that constrained investment activity. Against the backdrop of declining prices, our earnings performance remained solid, underpinned by an expansion in sales volumes. In addition, we were again able to establish the foundations for growth as part of our strategic projects. A strong first quarter, which was marked by anticipatory purchases and stockpiling in response to the war in Iran, underscores how challenging it has become to prepare reliable forecasts for the financial year. The duration and outcome of the conflict, and consequently the trajectory of raw material and transportation costs, will have a decisive impact on revenue and earnings. Our guidance of revenue growth to between €615 million and €625 million and an unchanged EBIT margin of between 6% and 8% for the 2026 financial year is currently underpinned by our order intake and backlog," says Matthias Schönberg, CEO of SIMONA AG.
