In developing SIMORAIL, SIMONA has created a product line of innovative, lightweight, low-flammability and recyclable thermoplastics that combine the qualities of safety and functionality with contemporary design and visual appeal, thus addressing the needs of designers, transport companies, vehicle manufacturers, component manufacturers and thermoformers alike.

The products' high impact strength and dimensional stability paired with superb thermoforming properties provide the basis for highly durable solutions. Among the areas of application, for example, are seats, armrests, wall panelling, window panels, partition walls, ceiling elements and storage units. Compared to materials such as HPL or GFRP, SIMORAIL is completely recyclable and also excels when it comes to visual appearance. The sheets can be produced in almost any colour and in various textures and, as a through-coloured material, offer clear advantages with regard to the visibility of scratches – no need for time-consuming coatings of any kind.

Specially developed to meet the requirements set out in EN 45545 and NFPA130, the company's low-flammability SIMORAIL sheets also offer superior safety when it comes to fire protection. Featuring SIMORAIL HL2 and SIMORAIL HL3, the product range is tailored precisely to the requirements of the respective hazard levels. The portfolio was extended to include SIMORAIL AG, a product variant with improved chemical resistance and anti-graffiti effect thanks to a PVDF protective layer, as well as SIMORAIL EcoPlastIQ recycled, a recycled version that contains at least 30% internal or external recyclate.

At this year's InnoTrans, one of the team's key tasks will be to demonstrate how SIMORAIL can be used to make upcoming customer projects more sustainable, durable, cost-efficient and visually appealing.
