SIMONA acquires Dutch suppliers of cable protection solutions
Financial Press Releases Company
Kirn, 16.06.2025. SIMONA AG plans to acquire 100 percent of the ownership interests in Electroplast B. V. and Dutchclamp B. V., based in Dordrecht, Netherlands. Electroplast is a provider of plastic solutions for the protection of cables and pipes, the focus being on cable protection sheets and ducts. Dutchclamp develops and produces plastic cable clamps and blocks for mounting low-, medium-, and high-voltage cables. Together, the two companies generate revenue of around €17 million and employ a workforce of more than 30 people. The customer base of the two companies consists primarily of grid operators, energy suppliers, distributors, and companies involved in the expansion of fiber optics.
This acquisition will allow the Infrastructure business line to expand its product portfolio in the segment of cable protection. Electroplast's product range is aimed primarily at the protection of underground infrastructure relating to transmission and distribution networks. The high proportion of recycling-based solutions within Electroplast's portfolio complements the SIMONA range of sustainable products – in line with the clearly defined target set out in the company's sustainability strategy. Dutchclamp brings products to the SIMONA Group that ensure secure fastening and reliable operation, particularly in substations and in the installation of low-, medium-, and high-voltage cables.
The seller of the two entities is the holding company Slagboom Beheer B.V, Dordrecht, Netherlands. The closing of the transaction is to be concluded as soon as possible. The transaction is being executed as part of a so-called locked-box procedure, whereby economic transfer will take place retroactively as of January 1, 2025. The parties involved have agreed not to disclose details regarding the purchase price.
"We are delighted that Electroplast and Dutchclamp, two companies that are well established and successful within the market, will be joining the SIMONA family. This transaction gives us access to attractive, high-growth cable protection markets in the Netherlands, but also at an international level," said Matthias Schönberg, CEO of SIMONA. “In addition, we are making a contribution to sustainable transformation through durable and recycling-based plastic solutions,” Schönberg continued.
“The origins of what is now Electroplast B.V. and Dutchclamp B.V. go back more than fifty years, when our father, Mr. John Govert Slagboom, laid the foundation for what would grow into a family business with a long and proud history. The acquisition by SIMONA feels like a natural and positive next step for the company and its employees. I have full confidence that they will continue to grow the business with respect for everything that has been built over the years. I am deeply grateful for the trust our customers and suppliers have placed in us throughout the years, and especially for the incredible team that shaped the company into what it is today. Thanks to their dedication and commitment, I look back on this chapter with pride and warmth, and forward with confidence in what the future will bring under new leadership. I wish SIMONA AG every success moving forward”, said Nathalie Slagboom, a co-shareholder of Slagboom Beheer B.V.
